Although I have drawn and painted for much of my life, I graduated with a BFA from Eastern Michigan University with an emphasis in Clay and Metal and a degree in teaching. This led me to a teaching career of nearly 40 years that included middle school, high school, and college. I earned my Masters in Art Education, and have earned many hours of credit beyond degrees in the further study of art. As passionate as I am about teaching, I feel as passionate about making art. Appreciating the camaraderie of working and sharing with other artists I belong to a number of groups: Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors, Michigan Water Color Society, Michigan Ceramics Art Association, and I belong to and serve on the Board of the Brighton Art Guild.
